Guarantee of Quality

Arbroath Fresh Fish guarantees that all products supplied to customers are of the highest quality.

Payment Options

Arbroath Fresh Fish accept all major credit/debit cards (no minimum), and our website uses a secure payment system, SagePay. All transactions are in sterling GBP.


  • We do not charge your chosen payment method until after your order is weighed.
  • The price you see at the checkout is the maximum we can charge per item.
  • You will only be charged for the actual nett weight when packed.
  • The price per kilo is the actual price charged for what we pack.
  • We make no deductions whatsoever.
  • All fish descriptions are detailed within the shop.

Acceptance of Order

Our acceptance of your order takes place at the dispatch of the order, with the exception of special orders, you may cancel your order up to this point. The purchase contract is made at the point of dispatch. The responsibility for the order is ours until you accept delivery of the order. We make every effort to dispatch your order as quickly as possible or to arrive on a date specified by you, but we cannot be held responsible for events outwith our control. Please note due to the perishable nature of products sold on Arbroath Fresh Fish we will not accept order cancellations after the point of dispatch.


Website Liability

We make every effort to ensure our website is as accurate as possible but we can accept no responsibility for any loss resulting from information contained on our website or in respect of any omissions or errors. We give no warranty to any of the information contained on our website. To the extent of the law, by using Arbroath Fresh Fish you agree that we will not be liable to you or any third party for any loss or incidental damages that arise as a result of using Arbroath Fresh Fish


Returns Procedure

If your order arrives damaged please sign for accordingly and advise us immediately by email or telephone.

If your order is not what you ordered please advise us immediately by email or telephone.

We will deal with your complaint quickly within an absolute maximum of 48hours upon receipt.

We will then give you advice what to do next.

We will cover all costs directly relating to your complaint up to a maximum of the amount charged to your chosen payment method.

You will be required to return the goods at our expense.

Once we have received the returned items you will be reimbursed for 100% of the amount charged subject to the following conditions.

Returned goods MUST be accompanied by a valid reason for making the return.

Exceptions to the above guarantee.

You cannot return goods which are not faulty or because you have changed your mind.



Refunds for valid claims will be made via the same method of payment as used to place order.


Right To Cancel

Your right to cancel starts at the time of placing the order.

All of our products are food and therefore perishable, your right to cancel ceases at the point of dispatch.


Delivery Methods & Times

UK Mainland deliveries are made by our own transport or Thistle Couriers (1 working day). Highlands, Islands on a 1-2 day service. We deliver our products in specially designed containers to anywhere in Mainland UK.

Additional areas are available upon request.

Arbroath Fresh Fish delivers direct to your door. Customers can give additional delivery instructions for their order online at the time of purchase. Deliveries are attempted at least once on the day of delivery. Our courier may deliver the package to a neighbouring house either two doors up or down from the delivery address whilst posting full instructions for collection on a delivery card at the delivery address. If it is not possible to deliver the package on the day of delivery our courier will return the package to the local depot.

Thereafter parcels must be collected from the local delivery depot. If not collected parcels are returned to Arbroath Fresh Fish.

Delivery Days

We deliver Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday.


Ordering procedure.

You may order fresh fish whenever you wish.

For next day delivery including Saturday you must order BEFORE 3.00AM day PRIOR to delivery.

Example : If you require fish to be delivered on Friday then place your order anytime  BEFORE      3.00  AM  Thursday.

Delivery Charges

Tuesday – Friday inclusive up to 5.00kg - £6.00 (orders of £50.00 and over FREE delivery)

Saturday – up to 5.00kg - £24.00 (orders of £100.00 and over FREE delivery)

Surcharged areas – Offshore, Highlands and Islands.

We also operate a free local delivery service using our own transport.

This service is restricted to a maximum of 150 deliveries per delivery day.

This may vary according to conditions. Please check website for information regarding this service.

There is currently no minimum purchase for this service.

All our fresh and cooked fish is vacuum skin packed using the latest technology.

It is packed in leakproof polystyrene boxes with ice gel.

The box is bubble wrapped then poly wrapped.

This ensures your product arrives in pristine condition.

All our produce is suitable for home freezing.


Retention of Title

This remains with Arbroath Fresh Fish until the goods are paid for in full.


Delivery Charges

These are automatically added to the cost of the product as part of the process of submitting an order. Postage/delivery is subsidised for UK Mainland orders.

 Arbroath Fresh Fish charge for orders under £50, for orders of £50.00 and over delivery is free subject to a 1600hour latest delivery time being selected.

If you require a priority delivery time the additional premium will be charged.

If you require a Saturday delivery, please refer to additional charges including free delivery threshold.




Liability insurance is included.


Application of Value Added Tax (VAT)

VAT is included in the cost of each product, where applicable (VAT number GB 898469829).


Order Confirmations

Upon submitting an order using our automated shopping basket system, the customer will receive an email containing order confimation and details of the order.


Data Protection

Arbroath Fresh Fish are committed to protecting your privacy. We will only use the information that we collect about you lawfully (in accordance with the Data Protection Act 1998) and according to the Web Trader Code of Practice. We collect information about you for 2 reasons: firstly, to process your order and second, to provide you with the best possible service. Arbroath Fresh Fish will not e-mail you in the future unless you have given us your consent Arbroath Fresh Fish will give you the chance to refuse any marketing email from us in the future. The type of information we will collect about you includes: your name, address, phone number, email address, credit/debit card details. We will not share your email address or any other details.

We will never collect sensitive information about you without your explicit consent. The information we hold will be accurate and up to date. You can check the information that we hold about you by emailing us. If you find any inaccuracies we will delete or correct it promptly. The personal information which we hold will be held securely in accordance with our internal security policy and the law and the Web Trader Code. If we intend to transfer your information outside the EEA (European Economic Area) we will always obtain your consent first.

We may use technology to track the patterns of behaviour of visitors to our site. This can include using a 'cookie' which would be stored on your browser. You can usually modify your browser to prevent this happening. The information collected in this way can be used to identify you unless you modify your browser settings. Unforeseen Circumstances

While every effort will be made to meet shoppers demands, cancellations or variations may be necessary as a result of Act of God, War, Strike, Lockout, Labour Dispute, Fire, Flood, Drought or other causes beyond the control of Arbroath Fresh Fish.

You will be advised by email if we cannot process your order as requested.

Depending on the reason why we cannot process your order as requested, we may offer you an alternative.

All complaints will be acknowledged within one working day. Any complaint will be dealt with fairly, effectively and confidentially in accordance with the Web Traders Trust UK Code of Practice. These complaints will be dealt within seven working days.



These terms and conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with Scottish Law and you hereby agree to be subject to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Scotland.

These terms and conditions do not affect your statutory rights.
